Click on
the NewSplat logo above;
first-time LiveMeeting users
will be prompted to download the
FREE software required.

• Scroll down and click on "Accept,
Install, and Join."

• You will get a window asking
if you wish to Run or Save this
file. Click "Run."

• The "LMSetup.exe" file will
download in about 30 seconds.

• You will get another window
asking if you would like to run
the software. Click "Run."

• The
software will then install to
your computer. This should
only take about a minute.

• When the
download is complete, the
LiveMeeting session window will
attempt to open. More than
likely, your browser will
prevent this, and you will have
to click on "Download File."
• You will
then get the meeting loading
screen.
• Before
entering the meeting you will be
required to enter your name, e-mail address,
and company name.
• When you
join the meeting, you will see a
welcome screen and streaming
video, and you should also hear
the streaming audio.

• You can set up a personal
"Contact Card." Click on
"Attendees" in the upper left,
find your name, click the arrow,
and click "Edit."

• You can click and drag both
the Attendees list and the Audio
& Voice panel anywhere on your
screen.

• If you have a question that
doesn't have to be addressed
immediately you can post it to
the Q&A section. Click the
"Q&A" button, type your
question, and hit Enter.
(Urgent questions are addressed
further down).

• You can toggle your Audio,
Microphone, & Webcam On/Off at
any time by using the
corresponding icons in the upper
right. It will be
necessary for most people to
mute their microphones during
class to prevent unwanted
background noise.

• Different classes will have
various handouts. These
will be available for download
under the "Handouts" icon in the
upper right.

• If you need the teacher to
Slow Down, Stop, or if you have
a question or can't hear, use
the icons under the "Feedback"
section in the upper right to
signal these issues.
Otherwise your icon should be
set to the green "Proceed"
triangle.

• During class, you will be
better able to see the material
being presented by the teacher
while viewing it in "Full Screen
Mode." To switch to Full
Screen Mode, click the icon on
the bottom right.

• You can open a private instant
message/chat window with anyone
in the meeting. In the
Attendees list, right-click the
name of the person you wish to
type to and select "Chat."
In the same menu, you can block
chats and view others' Contact
Cards.
